Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Light, directional manual massage that moves fluid towards the lymph nodes.
From £70Compression garment therapy that squeezes fluid out of the legs and abdomen in sequence.
You lie in a set of inflatable trousers divided into chambers. The chambers inflate and deflate in sequence from the feet upwards, which pushes fluid along the same route a manual drainage massage would take, at a consistent pressure. It is the mechanical version of the same idea and it covers a large area quickly.
Weekly, or as a bolt on to another treatment. Blocks of six or ten are the usual pattern.
Not used with a current or recent deep vein thrombosis, untreated heart failure, severe peripheral neuropathy, an open wound or fracture in the area, or during pregnancy.
