This website

The target is WCAG 2.2 at level AA. What that means here in practice:

• Every colour pair carrying text has been measured rather than eyeballed. Body text, links, small labels and button text all clear 4.5 to 1 against their background, and large display type clears 3 to 1. The brand gold is used for rules, borders and button grounds precisely because it does not clear those thresholds as a text colour on cream.
• The page works from the keyboard alone. Focus is visible on everything interactive, the navigation menus open and close from the keyboard, and there is a skip link to the main content as the first thing you reach.
• Headings run in order, landmarks are marked up, and every photograph has alternative text describing what is in it rather than repeating the caption.
• Text reflows to a single column without horizontal scrolling down to 320 pixels wide, and it can be enlarged to 200 per cent without anything being lost.
• Nothing moves, flashes or auto plays. Where an animation exists it is a hover transition, and it is turned off entirely for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
• Forms have real labels, not placeholder text standing in for one, and errors come from the browser rather than from a custom widget.

Known problems

• The treatment finder is a third party component and its accessibility is not ours to guarantee. If it gets in your way, everything it offers is also reachable through the concerns pages and the treatment menu, and the phone is faster than either.
• The price tables scroll sideways inside their own container on a narrow screen. That is better than the alternatives but it is still a horizontal scroll, and the same information is on each treatment page as plain text.
• The photographs carry a colour treatment. Anyone who needs to see skin as it actually is should treat these as decorative, because they are not accurate references and are not intended as any.

The building

A lift serves both clinic floors from street level. The street door has a threshold of about 90mm and a clear opening of 810mm, and there is a portable ramp if you tell us in advance. There is an accessible toilet on the first floor and two treatment rooms with room to transfer from a wheelchair. Assistance dogs are welcome everywhere in the building. If you need an appointment at a quiet time, a longer slot, written information in advance, or someone to meet you at the street door, ask when you book. None of those need explaining and none of them cost anything.
